FALIRAKI is  the largest  and the most popular resort of Rhodes Island.

Falaraki is located at the north east part of Rhodes, about 14 km from the city of Rhodes and about 10km from the airport. The beautiful resort area is  part of the Kalithies village, which is about 1km away.

Faliraki was established in the late sixties, with just a couple of small beach tavernas, catering mainly to the few Greek visitors and fishermen.  Until the end of the sixties, Faliraki was just another argricultural area, well known for the superb tasting  grapes figs and  tomatoes.

At the beginning of the seventies, FALIRAKI started to attract more and more tourist from many parts of Europe. Within a few years thanks to the beautiful and long sandy Beach, Faliraki  visitors increased  to several thousands and  many hotels and RENTAL apartments were built.

Highly recommended  to visit  Kathara Bay Family Apartments situated in Kathara bay 50m from the beach. (Kathara means in Greek clean) which is beside the main beach of Faliraki

Also, you will find , Maria Christina studios for a cheap room, and  located in Faliraki in a quiete area, just 5 minutes from the center of Faliraki ,Ermou street  .

 If you like quiet places ,such as  bars ,cafes, and restaurants ,there are a lot .This quite places you can  see them a few meters far from the center of Faliraki..

Just 5km from Faliraki you will find the Kalithea area and you have  many choices of hotel .  You will need transport to get to Faliraki area, a car,  or motorbike or bike, unless you are willing to walk.  In this case you must be fit to do this on a regular basis.

   From the  small harbor of Faliraki (located  near  Kathara beach ) you can do day trips around  the small bays with rental boats.  There are two further small bays that attract many tourist, one is Ladiko bay, and the other is Vagies (Antony Quinn) Bay this is where the Guns of Navarone was filmed. Also the only Nudist beach  it's in Faliraki area,near the  harbor ,and after the  bay of Kathara .

The ferry-boats go to Simi and Lindos for a day trip, departure from the Faliraki beach. If you like a very quiet beach, don’t forget to visit the romantic Tragounou Beach.

All the beaches of Faliraki have puplic toilets and showers, umbrellas, and sun-beds. A variety of water sports are available for all ages, together with many snack bars and restaurants.

Faliraki is well known for its nightlife, at the center of Faliraki there are the bars and nightclubs, which attract  all the young  tourists.  Just 2 km a way  you can visit also the kalithea spa.

Away from the center of the Faliraki town , you will find many traditional Greek tavernas (one of the best  though is SARANTIS RESTAURANT), bars  and cafeterias for the more and  more quiet and relaxing evening  out.

Also don't forget to visit kellys irish pup ,and champers pup  a great places for cold beers and cocktails, karaoke nights that take place every night and get seem live on the internet as there is a live camera recording and sending images to the internet.  You may get recorded and have you own cd to take back home as well
